Cycle Barn MotorSports Group Sets Motorcycle Speed Records - Again
The Cycle Barn MotorSports Group, in cooperation with renowned racing team Falkner-Livingston, has established two world motorcycle speed records at Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats.
Their 2006 Kawasaki ZX-14 ran in the 1650PP sport bike class, which requires a stock frame, engine, and appearance. Rider Paul Thede exceeded last year’s 189mph with a 198.774 mph run. In later testing the ZX-14 topped 200mph!
Kelly Boltz, son of Cycle Barn owners Jim and Jeanette Boltz, rode a Triumph Rocket III to a new cruiser class record at over 154mph. Both motorcycles were prepared by Lynnwood Cycle Barn’s Scott Zollars, acknowledged to be one of the top technicians in the world.
Jim Boltz said, "Our staff have worked so well with the Falkner-Livingston team for these records. Our employees are proud of our accomplishments, and of the work done by Kelly and Scott. And really, I don’t think we’re done yet.”
Cycle Barn Supports 2Fast Racing – And Wins WMMRA #1 for 2008!
The people who run 2Fast Track Days also manage the 2Fast Racing team, which supports the Seattle 100, the charity track day that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Nephcure Foundation. Cycle Barn is the primary corporate sponsor of the racing team. Confused yet? You will see the 2Fast racers and instructors at many of our special store events.
We’re very proud of the 2Fast Racing Team and of our association with them. They run a great program, a very professional race effort, AND give back so much to the community. The icing on the cake this year was the success of Eli Edwards- the 2Fast Racing team member who has wrapped up the #1 plate for the Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association for all of 2008.
Congratulations to 2Fast, 2Fast Racing, Eli Edwards, and… us!
